Organizers say a Saskatchewan program that does diabetes assessments in a food bank has been a great success.
The initiative began in July in the Battlefords.
It involves the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Battlefords food bank and the Prairie North Health Region.
Project co-ordinator Nicole Braun says anyone who comes in to utilize the food back is asked to participate in voluntary diabetes screening.
She says over 100 people have consented to be tested since the program started.
The initiatve will be extended to Prince Albert and Meadow Lake later this fall.
