Kawacatoose Hall Burns Down

A fire on the Kawacatoose First Nation has sent the band’s community hall up in smoke.

The blaze broke out yesterday afternoon.

RCMP say part of the building has partially collapsed, and it will have to be a write-off.

Staff Sergeant Gregory Abbott notes construction was taking place on the roof when the blaze broke out, but it’s too soon to say if that’s what caused the fire.

Fortunately, no one was injured in the blaze.
