Lonechild Gets Job Back, FSIN Plans to Appeal

Twice FSIN Chief Guy Lonechild tried the door of the FSIN today, and both times it was locked.
Lonechild tried to return to work today after a judge ruled yesterday that his suspension was not valid and that he should be reinstated.
This follows a meeting earlier this month where the Executive Council and Indian Government Commission voted to suspend Lonechild pending a non-confidence vote tomorrow.
Following the ruling, the FSIN has issued a press release, saying it will appeal the decision.
Lonechild says he won’t stand in the way of what the other Executive members want to do.
Although that meeting scheduled for tomorrow was quashed by the judge in his ruling, it is still expected to go ahead.
Lonechild plans to attend and appeal to the chiefs for what he’s calling “common sense.”
Meanwhile, a Conservative MP is expressing his support for Lonechild.
Prince Albert’s Randy Hoback recently wrote a letter outlining the chief’s accomplishments in the local newspaper.
He says he’s happy with the recent court decision that quashed Lonechild’s removal.
Hoback says whether or not Lonechild gets his job back will be up to the chiefs and the courts.
