Man Dead After Fight On Kawacatoose Reserve

A 23-year-old man from the Kawacatoose First Nation is facing a second-degree murder charge after a fatal fight on the reserve early Sunday morning.

RCMP say 27-year-old Dennis Dustyhorn was in medical distress when officers responded to a call about a fight between two men.

The other man had left the scene by the time the Mounties arrived.

Dustyhorn was transported to the Wynyard hospital, where he died of his injuries.

The victim was originally from Kawacatoose, but had recently been living in Regina.

The suspect, Ryan Daniel David Assoon, is making his first court appearance in Punnichy today.
