MLA Says Northerners Should Receive Travel Money

A northern MLA says he wants to see more resources made available to northerners who are forced to travel to see family members who may be sick or injured.
Buckley Belanger says he’s heard too many stories of families from isolated communities who suffer financial hardship when traveling to the big city to be with their loved ones.
He says many don’t have money for hotels or meals, yet make the trip anyway.
He adds those who suffer the hardest time often come from smaller centres where there are few resources available.
