A music festival in Regina is telling people to “wake up” to the effects of tar sands and potential oil pipelines in Canada.

The Won-Ska festival has several musicians donating their talent including Eekwol and Info Red.

Sue Deranger is with Mother Earth Justice Advocates and says public education is the focus of the event.

Deranger says the event is also in solidarity with the protestors in Ottawa who are against the TransCanada Keystone XL pipeline.

The festival is taking place in front of the Legislative Building, starting at three and going until nine this evening.
