Respected Senator Passes Away

A funeral is planned for a First Nations senator from the Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation.

On Monday Senator Alma Kytwayhat passed away peacefully at the age of 69.

For 21 consecutive years she was involved with the Bold Eagle program, a partnership with the Canadian Armed Forces.

She was the elder and Kohkum to over one thousand graduates.

In 2006 she was featured in a television special dealing with Treaty Message Minutes.

A funeral is planned for her today at the high school on the Makwa Sahgaiehcan reserve.
