Robbery, Sexual Assault Land Jail Time

A robbery and a sexual assault have resulted in a three-year sentence for a Thunderchild First Nation man.

Eighteen-year-old Arlen Wapass received that sentence Monday after pleading guilty to those and other crimes.

Court was told the crimes occurred during several days of binge drinking last spring.

The Crown and defence submitted a joint suggestion for the three-year sentence.

Defence Lawyer Kevin Hill is pleased that the judge agreed.

Judge David Kaiser urged Wapass to get help for his drinking problem while in jail.
