The dust has settled from Tuesday’s election at the Prince Albert Grand Council.

And Ron Michel has been elected Chief of the PAGC for a third term.

Michel defeated his challenger, Charles Whitecap, by a count of 114 votes to 91.

Speaking after the election Michel says he feels his willingness to travel to Northern communities helped put him over the top.

He adds tackling the PAGC’s debt situation will be one of his main orders of business.

Whitecap was gracious in defeat thanking everyone for their support.
