The Metis Nation-Saskatchewan is putting out the call for people interested in gathering information about northern cemeteries.
The names and locations collected will become part of the Genealogical and Archival Centre.
MNS Genealogist Tammy Vallee says the main area of interest is remote communities in the north.
“Work was done a few years ago for Green Lake, Beauval, Ile A’La Crosse and Buffalo Narrows. But in the south where you have all the farmers everybody’s recorded a lot of stuff. So if it’s a cemetary and if someone knows the work hasn’t been done we’re willing to accept the information no matter where it comes from.”
Vallee says anyone interested in becoming involved can first contact the MNS office in Saskatoon for more information.
