Earl Lidguerre has been elected as the new chief at Fond du Lac First Nation.
The election was held Monday for Chief & Council.
The vote went to two ballots and in the end Lidguerre defeated incumbent Chief Napoleon Mercredi by a vote of 171 to 121.
There were a total of 18 people in the running for six council positions.
