A new business entity in the province’s north is preparing to take advantage of the province’s booming resource sector.
Mamawetan Northwest Resource Partnerships was officially launched last week.
The group is attempting to develop business arrangements with construction firms, and other suppliers to companies such as Cameco and Areva.
CEO Bruce Simms says the aim is to create jobs and economic activity for people in places like Beauval, Ile-a-la-Crosse, Buffalo Narrows and Green Lake.
Simms adds they have only been in operation for a few months now, but have already started discussions with a general contractor and a service consultant for SaskPower.
