Premier Brad Wall and Opposition leader Dwayne Lingenfelter continue to trade barbs over the issue of resource revenue sharing with First Nations.
The NDP has pitched the idea as part of its election platform.
Wall says he believes resource dollars should be shared equally with everyone and also thinks a special deal for one group could alienate others — including the Metis.
He also says the New Democrats have yet to provide how much it would cost.
Lingenfelter says the duty to consult process would have to be followed before any financial details are released.
He adds implementing a resource-sharing deal with First Nations is the responsible thing to do — and it beats heading to court, as some bands have considered.
The NDP leader says the issue is tied to the Natural Resources Transfer Agreement of 1930 that took mineral control away from First Nations.
