Officials at the Montreal lake Cree Nation say everyone is pulling together in the wake of this week’s fire at the band office.
On Monday, a fire tore through three administration offices prompting an evacuation of the structure.
Executive assistant Norman Ross says an action plan is being carried out to make sure programs continue to be delivered without delay.
He explains that even though the finance department was affected, none of the band’s financial records were damaged by the blaze.
“Again our valuable information wasn’t touched or burned. It’s still business as usual.”
RCMP are investigating the fire as an arson however Ross says they believe it was a random, willful act of damage.
He adds nothing specific was targeted.
The band also says, contrary to earlier reports, the fire was put out by Montreal Lake’s fire department.
