A Homeless Shelter planned for North Battleford is just a bandaid solution according to a city councillor.
On Monday night Ray Fox voted against a zoning change to allow the shelter because he says a homeless shelter isn’t enough.
He says homelessness is more than not having a place to sleep, it involves everything from addictions to diseases like tuberculosis.
“We need to get together and begin to form a cohesive plan, we need partners, we need partnerships, we need a strategy. We need more than just a bandaid solution, we need more than just something to get us through the night.”
Fox says the community needs to work together as a whole to solve the problem.
