There has been a reshuffling of some portfolios within the Ministry of First Nations and Metis Relations.

La Ronge resident Toby Greschner, who has been the assistant deputy minister in recent years, has been taken out of his position and re-assigned to some other duties.

According to the ministry’s Ron Crowe, Greschner has been asked to lead the engagement on the Northern Action Plan.

Last year, the province announced it was bringing together government ministries, northern leaders and federal departments to tackle issues of northern concern.

Those include youth suicide, drug abuse and gangs.

Crowe says Giselle Marcotte has been named the new assistant deputy minister on an interim basis.

She is based out of Regina.

However, Crowe says the long-term plan is to look for another northern resident to become an ADM down the road.
