A resolution passed by the Metis Nation of Saskatchewan has brought a smile to one local leader.
Bryan Lee of the Metis local in the Fish Lake/Christopher Lake region has long opposed the idea of transporting and storing nuclear waste in Saskatchewan.
On Saturday he helped bring the issue to the forefront of the MNS’s annual general meeting.
It was there a resolution was passed in support of banning the storage and transportation of nuclear waste in the province.
Lee says it’s a relief to have the organization on board with his cause.
“In our opinion, and all other support groups, this is a real relief, and a real triumph, to have the Metis Nation of Saskatchewan take an official position.”
Lee hopes the stance taken by the MNS spreads to other groups.
