The newly re-elected MLA for Meadow Lake has some priorities.

Jeremy Harrison says he’d like to work on stabilizing the forest industry.

He says one way to do that might be to create another deal like the one between Norsask Forest Products, Sask Power, and MLTC.

Under that deal, wood waste will be used to create energy, instead of just being burned up.

That energy will then be sold to SaskPower.

“There’s more work to be done on that, but this power project at MLTC is going to go some distance to securing the future of the industry in northwest Saskatchewan, which is a file I’ve been very engaged in and we’re going to continue to be engaged in that.”

Harrison says he’ll return to his job as Enterprise Minister tomorrow.
