The chairman of New North says he doesn’t expect northern Saskatchewan will be overlooked by the provincial government because it didn’t elect any Saskatchewan Party MLAs.
Bruce Fidler, the mayor of Creighton, says he feels both Athabasca MLA Buckley Belanger and Cumberland MLA Doyle Vermette will do a fine job of representing northerners, and he hopes the Saskatchewan Party government listens to them.
Fidler says he will be watching for the government’s next highways and infrastructure plan, to see what improvements it has earmarked for the province’s north.
He says northern Saskatchewan is full of potential and promise, and he believes the Saskatchewan Party government is aware of that.
