A 23 year-old man from La Ronge has been arrested and charged with killing a teenager in Prince Albert.
Crown prosecutors are currently determining whether the accused should face a count of first-degree or second-degree murder.
It was Tuesday morning when the body of a 17 year-old male was found in the 800 block of 3rd street east.
Sergeant Kelly McLean of the Prince Albert Police Service explains the ambulance crew, that first responded to the call, quickly determined foul play was at work.
“Paramedics arriving to the initial call realized the male subject had been a victim of violence and was deceased.”
The cause of death is still under investigation and McLean says they are continuing to notify the family of the deceased.
An autopsy is scheduled and the 23 year-old suspect will likely appear in court tomorrow.
