A group of youth from the Mamawetan Churchill River Health Region gathered in La Ronge last night to discuss the results of a three-year leadership program.
Communities in the region were surveyed to find out what students in Grades 6 to 12 think can be done to improve the quality of life.
They discussed findings which assessed community strengths and weaknesses in 40 different categories.
Pinehouse junior mayor Regan Misponas says he believes young people can contribute to the quality of life in his area.
The youth panel says recreation, cultural activities, personal safety and addictions are some of the things which need to be worked on in their communities.
Program co-ordinator Laura Kuley says the information provides an inside view of each community, but funding for the initiative has now come to an end.
Kuley says its hoped more leadership activities like youth town councils can be developed in the future.
