A contractor in the province’s far north has won a prestigious award.
Points Athabasca Contracting completes industrial projects with a focus on heavy, mechanical work.
It employs a large, skilled workforce of citizens from the Athabasca Basin.
Over the weekend, the firm was presented with one of the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce’s ABEX awards.
The honour was presented in the Aboriginal business partnership category.
John Scarfe is the operations manager for the company, and says it’s nice to be recognized.
Scarfe says Points Athabasca is looking to expand into southern Saskatchewan, as well as in the tarsands in Alberta and Saskatchewan.
