Investigators are on the scene of a fatal house fire on the Ahtahkakoop First Nation.
Two bodies have been pulled from the wreckage, while a four-year-old girl is being treated in hospital for smoke inhalation.
The blaze occurred sometime after 1:30 this morning.
Cpl. Rob King of the RCMP says the fire damaged the house severely and conditions are still too hot to sift through.
He explains officers were already headed out to the house when they came upon the fire.
“Right now what we know is that members were on their way to a residence. They received a complaint of two injured males at the residence. When members arrived on scene the residence they were attending to was fully engulfed in flames.”
He adds autopsies will have to be performed on the bodies before their age and gender are known.
Anyone with information about what could have happened are being asked to call police.
