A woman who falsely accused a police officer of sexual assault has now been sentenced for assaulting a police officer.

Thirty-seven-year-old Myrtle Chamakese of the Pelican Lake First Nation received three months in jail.

That will be tacked on to the six months she is currently serving for the false accusation.

Court was told Tuesday that the assault of the police officer occurred August 23rd.

She scratched a Spiritwood RCMP officer as he tried to place her in a patrol car.

Defence lawyer Brent Little said Chamakese is scared of most members of the Spiritwood detachment.
