Now that he has recently been re-elected to a second three-year term, Yellow Quill First Nation Chief Larry Cachene wants to bring more business to the reserve.
He says there are several opportunities on the horizon to do that, including partnership with a company owned by a northern Alberta band that wants to expand its business into Saskatchewan.
In fact, Cachene says so many job opportunities may be provided that the reserve will have a new challenge — helping residents adjust to that lifestyle “without increasing the negative side in our community”.
Cachene also wants to see more homes built on the reserve, adding there are already plans to do so.
