The Saskatoon Health Region’s chief medical health officer says a plan to reduce poverty is moving forward.
Dr. Cory Neudorf says a group of ministry officials, business, faith and community leaders have been working on implementing recommendations which were made following a health disparities report in 2008.
He says some improvements have been made around affordable housing as well as delivery of health services.
A progress report on the poverty reduction plan will be presented to Saskatoon city council next week, as well as to the community.
Neudorf says an updated health disparities report will come out next spring.
