Commercial fishers are being allowed back onto Montreal Lake.
A moratorium that was voluntarily imposed by fishers six years ago is over.
Noland Henderson is one of the fishers and also works for the local band office.
Henderson says the irony is that while fish stocks appear to be up, he is not aware of any fishers who are putting their nets back in the water right now.
He cites poor market conditions as the main reason.
Henderson adds the fishers will come out once the economic conditions are favorable.
