A residential school survivor says he was treated so badly that one time he was dragged out to a highway and left there.
Kirby Littletent was the first survivor to speak during the Truth and Reconciliation Commission hearing in Regina Monday.
He said the pain of being dragged on the highway was so bad that, even today, he doesn’t like the feel of sandpaper.
Littletent says he’ll never be able to forget what he went through.
“I don’t think they’ll ever fix it, what they have done to me – never.”
The hearings will wind up in Regina on Wednesday.
Then, for the next few months, the commission will travel throughout the province, hearing what people went through.
