Cameco is reporting strong financial results in its latest quarterly report.
Uranium production is three percent higher than initially planned.
The company is reporting a 45% spike in revenue from the recent quarter, up to December 31st, compared to the same time last year.
President Tim Gitzel notes there are also some tweaks to the development of the Cigar lake Mine.
They are still expecting to ramp up to full production by the end of 2017 but the initial production period will be slightly slower than planned.
He says this is a result of having lower ore-grades in the initial mining along with a cautious approach to the project.
He adds they are confident everything will work out.
He adds they still plan to produce their first pounds of uranium from Cigar Lake sometime next year.
