An official with Cameco reports that around 100 workers at its Cigar Lake mine were recently hit with a stomach virus.
Rob Gereghty says things are slowly returning to normal, but many workers took a day or two to recover from the illness.
He adds two workers had to be flown out, as well:
“So we had them sent off-site. They visited hospital, were re-hydrated and released within the day.”
Around 590 workers are currently stationed at the site.
