A former campaign worker for the provincial NDP has pleaded guilty to attempting to utter forged documents.

Ernest Morin made the plea today in provincial court.

The charge was laid back in January of 2010 after RCMP investigated questionable sales of 1,100 Saskatchewan NDP memberships during the 2009 party leadership campaign.

Accusations were made that members of the Waterhen and Flying Dust First Nations were signed up without their consent or knowledge.

In return for the guilty plea, other charges against Morin were dropped.

His sentence amounted to a $3,000 fine.
