A man wanted in connection to a homicde in Fort Qu’Appelle in December has been taken into custody.
RCMP say 20-year-old Kelfert Wayne Watetch was arrested without incident by police in Regina late Saturday night.
Watetch had been wanted by the RCMP for second degree murder and robbery with violence in relation to the death of Joseph Bellegarde, who died of stab wounds received in an altercation at a Fort Qu’Appelle home on December 1st.
Four other men have been charged in connection to the slaying, including 25-year-old Preston Clarence Buffalocalf, who was arrested following a brief foot chase Friday morning on the Nekaneet First Nation.
Buffalocalf has been charged with robbery with violence in relation to the Bellegarde killing.
He is also facing an aggravated assault charge for allegedly stabbing a man on the Nekaneet reserve on February 2nd.
