After a brief lull, a forestry group in northwest Saskatchewan is looking to cash in on the province’s rebounding forest industry.

Northwest Communities Wood Products is reportedly talking to Paper Excellence and another group about forest opportunities in its region.

Doug Eddy is an economic official in Buffalo Narrows.

Eddy says they have worked to reinvigorate the NWC with the hope of sparking jobs and other opportunities for people in the area.

He says NCWP has an annual cut of 410,000 cubic metres.

The company is owned by seven Metis communities in northwest Saskatchewan.
