SaskPower is investigating an incident last weekend that saw some line cutters apparently abandoned overnight at a remote work site in northern Saskatchewan.
Spokesman Wayne Rude says the workers were brushcutting for a power line project between the Lindsay Lake substation and the Key Lake mine site.
It appears nine workers were not returned by helicopter to their base camp, and ended up spending an unscheduled night at their work site.
Rude says SaskPower is treating the matter “very seriously”:
“SaskPower is really investigating this fully with the contractor, and the sub-contractor and the air support group for this. And once we really complete that investigation, and that examination of what happened, we’ll be in a better position to perhaps report on exactly what happened.”
Rude says all of the workers are fine.
