A woman from the Muskowekwan First Nation has been charged with impaired driving causing death after a weekend crash which claimed a life.
The single vehicle rollover was reported 6:00 Sunday morning on Highway 15, about 3 km east of Punnichy.
A 22-year-old passenger was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the victim is from Fort Qu’Appelle, but his name is not being released.
Another passenger, a 19-year-old man from Muskowekwan, was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries — but was later released.
The driver, 32-year-old Marilyn Hunter, was also treated for injuries in hospital and released.
Hunter made her first court appearance yesterday and has been released from custody.
She is due back in court in Punnichy on May 22nd.
