The new minister of what was previously known as the Ministry of First Nations and Metis Relations is already on the hot seat.
Jim Reiter’s new posting is being met with disapproval by the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations.
The FSIN says it’s not sure Reiter can effectively manage the ministry considering he comes from an area of the province that doesn’t have a single First Nation.
The federation also notes the government has changed the name of the ministry to First Nations, Metis and Northern Affairs.
Reiter has already said he is eager to take on his new role.
