The lawyer for a Mistawasis First Nation man convicted of manslaughter says his client is disappointed with the outcome of the case.
This morning, a 12-member jury in Prince Albert concluded Curtis Nataucappo was guilty in the death of Alexander Ronald Sanderson.
Sanderson was killed on the Mistawasis reserve in April of 2001.
Defence lawyer Greg Chovin hasn’t said whether he plans to appeal the decision.
But he does say Nataucappo is holding up as best he can, even though he knew there was a potential for this kind of outcome.
The judge will hear arguments from the two lawyers on the sentence Nataucappo should receive on June 22nd.
