A meeting is taking place in Sandy Bay today to try and mend relations between the community and SaskPower.

Stephanie Roy McCallum is the managing director of Dialogue Partners, the group that’s facilitating the session.

McCallum says it is their third visit to the community and things are going well.

She explains SaskPower wants to try and get feedback from Sandy Bay about how it can do things better now and in the future:

“People have been telling us a lot of things.  We know, for sure, that the past and the history of Island Falls, and then subsequently SaskPower, is really important — and that that past needs to be acknowledged and honoured in order to link to the future.”

She adds other concerns relate to training, education and infrastructure.

McCallum adds they have given video cameras to some youth so they can interview their family and friends.
