An Aboriginal singer from Prince Albert has been chosen to perform on Parliament Hill for Canada Day.

Donny Parenteau was recently nominated for a Juno for his CD, “To Whom It May Concern”.

Parenteau has spent years entertaining people in Saskatchewan and across North America with his music.

He will be playing on Parliament Hill for both the noon and evening concerts.

Parenteau says there could be 80,000 people taking in the show — which will be the largest crowd he has ever played for in his solo-career.

Other acts that will be performing at the event include Simple Plan and Feist.
