SaskPower and Kitsaki Management have wrapped up clearing a 135-km line in the province’s north.

The line stretches from Highway 102 near Brabant Lake to Key Lake.

It is all part of the preparation for a new 300-km line, which the power utility says will serve the north.

Project manager Bill Orpen says work began in January and ended in late-April.

Orpen says the challenges of winter had to be dealt with, and hundreds of people were put to work.

He says clearing will begin in September.

SaskPower estimates the new line will be complete by the end of 2014.
