A youth charged with second-degree murder in the death of a Canoe Lake man has changed his plea.
The youth was originally charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of James Durocher.
Durocher’s body was found after a house fire at Canoe Lake on February 17th, 2011.
The youth’s trial was supposed to start Monday in Battleford Court of Queen’s Bench.
But instead, he pleaded down to the lesser offence of manslaughter.
Sentencing has been adjourned until October.
He will be sentenced as an adult.
