A faculty expansion is underway at the First Nations University of Canada.
The school’s new vice-president of academics says as many as eight new faculty will be hired as part of its new strategic plan.
Dr. Lynn Wells says she looks forward to recruiting and retaining staff, as well as building new academic programs to serve Indigenous students in the future:
“We’re just completing work on our institutional strategic plan which sets the institutional priorities for the First Nations University of Canada for the next five years.”
Wells says those priorities began with an elder’s gathering where she and other staff members heard from the school’s founders about FNUniv’s purpose and mission.
