RCMP say a 52-year-old man who died after an ATV crash near a Uranium City-area mine site was not wearing a helmet.
They also say alcohol is considered a factor in the accident.
The man died in a Saskatoon hospital Friday after he was found at the bottom of a 10-metre cliff on August 19th.
His ATV was found next to him.
The accident occurred near the decommissioned Gunnar mine site.
Fond du Lac RCMP Cpl. Bernie Herman says the cliff is at the end of a private runway and about 5 km from the actual mine site.
Herman says it appears the victim was headed back to a barge he operated, and it’s believed he knew the area well.
According to the RCMP, the victim was known to transport his personal ATV on his barge for local transportation when in remote communities.
Police have not released the man’s name.
