A two-day gathering will be held this week on the Muskoday First Nation for people who have lost loved ones to violence or who have gone missing.
The All Nations Healing Committee from Prince Albert is hosting the session.
Coordinator Angie Bear says elders will work with citizens to determine what types of ceremonies are needed for them and how they can move forward:
“Maybe they tell us that we need to have a horse dance. I’m not sure what form the guidance will take. It will be the people themselves that say, ‘This is what I need for healing. This is what I need to move on’.”
The event runs Thursday and Friday at Muskoday’s Veterans Memorial Park.
