The provincial government has released its first-quarter report on losses of public money and two northern health regions are involved.

Saskatchewan Health says an employee of the Athabasca Health Authority has been fired for using a corporate credit card for personal expenses.

The amount in question is around $9,000, but the exact figure has yet to be determined.

The report says the employee has made a partial repayment and the Ministry of Health is working to improve financial controls.

The Mamawetan Churchill River Health Region is also investigating after an employee was fired for falsifying time card records.

About $1,600 was at stake in that case.
