A Poundmaker First Nation man facing five charges after another man died in a car accident has been sentenced for other charges.
Robert Wilfred Badger pleaded guilty today to a string of other charges — including breaches of probation and giving a false name to police.
Judge Violet Meekma sentenced him to three months in jail and a $250 fine, which must be paid by next February.
Meanwhile, Badger will remain in custody in regard to the other counts, which include impaired driving causing death.
On July 19th, a 26-year-old man died when a car slid into a roadside pond, about 30 km west of the Battlefords.
Badger will be back in court next month for a bail hearing on those charges.
