A survey is being circulated in Prince Albert asking people if they have been victims of racial profiling or racism.

The author of the survey is Colleen Whitedeer, the vice-president of the Aboriginal Affairs Coalition of Saskatchewan.

Based on her own experiences, she says racism is rampant in Prince Albert.

Whitedeer has met with local school board officials, as well as police, to talk about her concerns.

She is hoping the survey will get more people talking about the issue:

“It does exist.  Because if you walk in Prince Albert, you’ll notice that you don’t really see any Aboriginal employees in the stores.  Why is that?”

Prince Albert Mayor Jim Scarrow says police officials have met with Whitedeer to discuss her concerns.
