A woman in Prince Albert says she thinks low-income earners would benefit if bus-hours in the city were extended.

Currently bus service ends at 7:15.

Colleen Whitedeer says that is a problem for some people in the west flat who don’t have cars.

She notes all the grocery stores are either up on the hill or at Cornerstone so people on the west side have few choices when it comes to food:

“You know with the bus service cutting off at 7:00 it’s quite difficult, especially for Mothers with young children.”

Whitedeer, who is running in the upcoming civic election, adds the situation is worse in the winter-time.

She notes a major department is closing down in the city center next year as well.
