The Spirit of our Nations Pow Wow is getting underway today at the Credit Union Centre in Saskatoon.
The three-day event is expected to attract more than 1,000 dancers, 300 singers and 10,000 spectators.
Things got started this morning with a pipe ceremony and feast. The grand entry is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
It will feature an honour song for the newly-elected FSIN executive.
During the weekend, the 2012 Miss FSIN Princess will be crowned.
Miss Indian World Jessa Rae Growing Thunder from the Fort Peck Reservation in Montana is also expected to attend.
This is the 40th anniversary of the Saskatchewan Indian Cultural Centre, which helped organize the pow wow.
The pow wow ends on Sunday.
