A well-known musician on the Canadian music scene and two talented youths have been named winners of this year’s Indspire Awards.

The Indspire Awards were formally known as the National Aboriginal Achievement Awards, and will be handed out next February at a ceremony in Saskatoon.

Winston Wuttunee has been a major name in the music industry since 1973.

The Saskatchewan resident is being singled out in the Culture, Heritage and Spirituality category.

Meantimem Graham Kotowich and Gabrielle Scrimshaw, also of Saskatchewan, are taking home honours in the Metis and First Nations Youth categories, respectively.

Other winners include National Chief Shawn Atleo and former NHL star Theoren Fleury.
